Project
A four-week volunteering project promoting creativity, self-expression and social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities through cultural, artistic, cooking, musical and dance activities.

Role

Project Activities

Week 1
Building connections with participants through introductory games, conversations and simple creative activities.
Getting familiar with the needs, interests and abilities of the participants.
Introduction to the organization, its staff, beneficiaries and daily routines.
Brainstorming and preparing ideas for creative workshops together with organization staff.
Observing existing activities and learning how to communicate and interact with participants.
Week 2
Planning and organizing creative workshops focused on arts and crafts, including drawing, painting, coloring and making handmade decorations.
Preparing and leading interactive activities that encourage creativity and self-expression.
Participating in existing activities organized by the institution and supporting staff in their implementation.
Adapting workshop materials and activities to participants' interests and abilities.
Organizing cultural workshops where participants can explore volunteer's country, traditions, music and customs.
Week 3
Preparing creative materials and supporting participants throughout the workshops.
Encouraging teamwork, communication and social interaction through group activities.
Organizing dance and movement activities adapted to participants' abilities and preferences.
Organizing musical activities, including listening to music and exploring different musical genres.
Organizing cooking workshops where participants can prepare simple meals, snacks or desserts with guidance and supervision.
Week 4
Reflecting on the volunteering experience and participating in a final evaluation with organization staff and AIESEC representatives.
Preparing a collaborative creative project where participants can work together and showcase their creativity.
Organizing a final exhibition or creative event where participants can present their artwork, crafts and other creations.
Encouraging participants to take an active role in preparing and presenting the final event.
Participating in group meetings with staff to exchange observations and discuss the experience.
Continuing creative, cultural, cooking and musical activities based on participants' interests and preferences.
